THE FOUNDERS
Hello, welcome to our webpage. My name is Elaine Harbor, the founder of KC Urban Development Services and the Operations Manager responsible for all administrative duties. My partner is Terry G. Williams, the Field Operations Manager in charge of the Rehabilitation Contractors is my partner. Mr. Williams has extensive experience working as a entrepreneur with his company, Williams Painting and Minor Home Repair. He currently works with the Kansas City School District as a lead painter. Mr. Williams also worked for JE Dunn Construction as an operator/laborer/painter in Tempe, AZ. All these positions were after his on the job training he received in the early 90s working for Citizen Housing Information Council providing the labor for the Kansas City, Missouri Paint Program and Minor Home Repair. We both have over 60 years of combined experience working on beautification and rehabilitation projects projects in Kansas City, Missouri. Our experience comes from the now closed Citizen Housing Information Council. Where I was employed for 7 years. Some of my projects include, Benton Blvd Infill Housing Project, Martin Luther King Village, Independence Commons, Bartle Hall, Central High School, Bruce R. Watkins Cultural Center, Linwood Square to name a few of our projects. Additionally, I was responsible for the creation of the documents we sent to Washington D.C. for the 18th Vine Historical Designation, which we now enjoy Mr. Williams and I are Kansas City natives and love our urban core community.
Being a Kansas City natives, we am proud to be a member sof the Red Kingdom of the Kansas City Chiefs. Additionally, my favorite artist is Kansas City’s own Tech N9ne of which I’ve been his Technician for 30 years. I love to read, listen to music, dance, study spirituality andthe science of religion along with ancient history. Mr. Williams, with this degree in Journalism/Television/Film has enforced his interest today as he is a theater buff.
Additionally, we graduated from F.L. Schalgle High School after attending Westport High School and South East Jr. and Mr. Williams attending KU and K-State to obtain his Journalism Degree. Ms. Harbor attended the Benedictine College of Business, where she graduated with an Associates Degree in Business Management. She also attended the Metropolitan Community Colleges, Pioneer Campus and Penn Valley campus received here degree in Computer Science.
We want to assure you our experience and education gives us the were with all to operate this non-profit with success and results, due to our youthful and helpful desire to help others. As I stated before, Mr. William worked for JE Dunn and I’ve worked for some of the leading engineering and architectural companies in Kansas City, as well as having experience as a superintendent for housing rehabilitation projects. Over the years I’ve worked with prestigious firms like Gould Evans Architects and Planners, Jame E. Taylor Architects and Planners, By Design Kansas City, RJN Environmental, Woodward-Clyde Consultants and HNTB just to name a few.
